What Are The 8 Steps To The Scientific Method?

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

I can picture the scene (having been there, done that and bought the T-Shirt at home). Your little bundle of joy has been given a project at school and told to use the scientific method.

“Mummy/Daddy - can you help with my project, I have to use the Scientific Method…”

“Oh right”

And there you have it, you are left scratching your head as to what the hell you need to do?

It has been one or twenty years since you were last in this position so you can be forgiven in not remembering or indeed for that matter knowing.

Fear not, here’s the 8 steps you need to take to let them know how to undertake their project the right way:

1. Identify the issue.

2. Refer to well chosen authority sources - as many as you can.

3. Ask a relevant question.

4. Develop a theory.

5. Perform the experiment.

6. Record the steps (method) used and the results.

7. Report the experiment.

8. Analyze the outcome and develop a conclusion.

Which raises an interesting question - what’s the most bizarre/shocking question your kid came up with and asked you?

I hate to admit it but I should have written all those gems down when they popped out of their larynxes (I was usually laughing too much to do so), how about you, what have your wunderkinds asked that got you thinking or belly laughing?

All the best,

Tom

Underachiever Mastery - 30 Days To Success

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Last year, two Internet Marketing luminaries - Frank Kern and Ed Dale ran their first 30 Day Challenge.

Alas, I missed it somehow!

However, I have heard nothing but great reviews of what actually happened. Basically Frank & Ed taught those who signed up how to “fish” (financially speaking) for a lifetime - how to make a successful business online from starting with nothing.

The end game of the 30 days was to take an idea, run with it and make your first $1, just one dollar in sales within the 30 day timeframe.

Not everybody succeeded of course but many, many people did and no-one paid a penny for the learning process.

This is an excellent example of the “Law of Reciprocity” and is truly inspirational.

I’ve just signed up myself and look forward to hearing/seeing more of it.

Here’s the preview podcast - click here

And here’s the actual site: 30 Day Challenge

All the best,

Tom
